The mayor of Tehran appreciated the steps taken by the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs in line with technological and innovative activities in the capital of Iran

The mayor of Tehran visited the Persis Gene accelerator, which is active in the area of biotechnology, and Tehran innovation factory, emphasizing the increasing growth of the country and reaching the high peaks of technology. In this regard, he appreciated the extensive efforts dedicated by the Vice-Presidency to turning the capital of Iran into an innovative and smart city. He also announced the serious determination of municipality of Tehran to move toward the development of technology and innovation in this city.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mohammad Ali Afshani, the mayor of Tehran, visited this innovation center and expressed: one of the plans of the municipality council is having an innovative and smart city.

Provision of an Opportunity for Turning the Capital of Iran into a Smart and Innovative City

The mayor of Tehran pointed out the increased interactions with the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs in order to create the infrastructures and the opportunity for turning the capital into an innovative and smart city, affirming: in this respect, we held a meeting with the Vice-Presidency, during which it was decided to design a joint project in Tehran and less-privileged districts so that improvements can be made in these abandoned places.

Visit of Sharif University of Technology

Afshani visited the Technology Services Complex in Sharif University of Technology and was familiarized with knowledge-based companies and the accelerator based in this complex.

Big Step of Tehran for Moving toward Innovation and Technology

The mayor of Tehran talked about the increasing growth of knowledge-based companies in these businesses, asserting: visiting the Technology Services Complex of Sharif, Persis Gene accelerator and innovation factory, as well as a district that has been abandoned for many year and is now turned into a proper place for creation of occupation and entrepreneurship is a major step toward the development of technology.

He continued: we also visited the innovation center of Sharif University of Technology to help the formation of an innovative and smart city.

The mayor of Tehran also mentioned the effective steps taken toward this path and serious determination of the municipality of Tehran for developing this process.
