The national brain-mapping laboratory will provide new services for researchers in the area of brain mapping due to its important role in the processing of MRI images.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, with regard to the implementation and evaluation of new procedures of MRI image processing in image processing laboratory of the national brain-mapping laboratory, this laboratory has added a new list of services to the services of the image processing laboratory, which are carried out to more familiarize the researchers during their neurosciences projects.

The services of the image processing laboratory of the national brain-mapping laboratory include the processing of task-fMRI data using GLM model, data analysis of rest-fMRI using ICA and extract of FA map of DWI images. From now on, researchers can receive services such as analysis of structural data using freesurfer software, analysis of structural data via VBM method, analysis of data connectivity in rest-fMRI and tractography nerve fibers of FTI images in addition to the previously applied processing procedures.

This laboratory has been established to meet a part of research and technology needs of the country in the area of creating the infrastructure for brain imaging and stimulation for cognitive research and presenting of knowledge-based services in the area of cognitive sciences and technologies and brain mapping with the support of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs.
