Biotechnology is one of the sciences that is constantly experiencing change, transformation and progress. This versatile discipline has many scientific disciplines at its heart, and in a way it can be said that it is a science to improve the quality of life on Earth. One area that is seriously involved with biotechnology is medicine. Medical biotechnology in Iran has an ecosystem that is working to develop this widely used scientific field.

Biotechnology in medical and pharmaceutical sciences involves several topics such as the invention of completely new methods for "molecular diagnosis of pathogenic mechanisms and the opening of a new topic called molecular medicine", "the possibility of diagnosis before and after diseases", "gene therapy and eliminating (relative) dealing with the patient and the disease normally", "production of new and recombinant drugs and vaccines", "manufacturing diagnostic kits", "creating manipulated microorganisms for special applications", and “production of monoclonal antibodies”.

In Iran, this complex and applied science has been improved with the efforts of the actors in this field. A path that has been accelerated by the presence of scientists and accelerators and has made significant progress.

The biotechnology development headquarter has aimed to pave the way for activists of the field as one of the main driving engines of the field by supporting the establishment of six accelerators.

The accelerators of IVD, E-health, PersisGen in the field of human and livestock vaccines, Shiraz, Urmia and Tabriz are among the players of the field. However, the number of accelerators will increase this year.
