The first phase of the national macro plan of “disease-free rainbow trout” was exploited and the mass production of this product was initiated during the trip of the vice president for science and technology affairs to Tonekabon.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, a green city in the west of Mazandaran, Tonekabon hosted the science and technology caravan to exploit the production of rainbow trout as one of the local products of this region using new technology.

Over a one-day trip to the west of Mazandaran, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, inaugurated the first phase of the national macro project of mass production of disease-free rainbow trout in Sardabi fish research center, accompanied by the governor and local authorities.

By implementing this national macro project, a semi-industrial pilot of breeding of rainbow trout was initiated in the country for the first time.

In this pilot, the environmental and bio-safety principles all completely followed in this pilot.

In addition, it is possible to produce basic fish with high health level. Genetics reserves of spawn and baby rainbow trout with high health level and genetic ID are another achievement obtained by implementing this national macro project.

Implementing the project of disease-free rainbow trout with the cooperation of the Vice-Presidency, the ministry of agriculture and governorate of Mazandaran in the form of the national macro project since October 2015 has led to the initiation of the first stage of the project.
