According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, stated among the academics and technologists of Ardabil Province that in order to realize the knowledge-based economy, support of creating a knowledge-based and startup business environment must be turned into a public discourse in the province: in order to create a knowledge-based economy, there must be a public demand, facilitation of the business environment and creation of added value by creative and educated human resources.

Sattari mentioned the inherent capacities of this province in the area of innovation and development of knowledge-based economy, adding: this province is the origin of training creative and capable human resources who are active in various scientific and technological areas. Achievements of this province are indicative of the remarkable potentials of its human resources.

The president of the national elites foundation pointed out that knowledge-based economy could be established by role playing of the private sector in the foundation of this ecosystem and with no interference of the government, expressing: the government can lay the groundwork for activities in the area of knowledge border and be present in the formation of relevant infrastructures. Nonetheless, it should develop a proper entrepreneurship ecosystem so that applicable-commercial studies of entrepreneurs in the private sector and those studies financially supported by the private sector could have efficient results.

According to Sattari, the entrepreneurship ecosystem is the main software of knowledge-based economy. In this regard, he continued: the major part of entrepreneurship is related to the serious determination and will of the indigenous culture of the province and empathy of people and authorities motivates the province to take significant steps toward the path of knowledge-based economy.

Pointing out the significant role of universities in the development of entrepreneurship students and their abilities to transform the society, Sattari affirmed: in order to be able to perform their role, universities must first be able to turn their surrounding environment into the entrepreneurship ecosystem. In this regard, we can see that more than 450 knowledge-based companies and startups have been established around Sharif University of Industry, which has led to entrepreneurship and creation of added value.

Emphasizing the software attitude toward the role of science and technology parks, Sattari marked: the science and technology parks can provide services to all activists of the entrepreneurship ecosystem with no time and space constraints. Similar to what has been established in the capital of Iran, the city must be turned into a science and technology park.

Inauguration of an Innovation Center in Ardabil Province

During this travel, the innovation center of Ardabil was inaugurated in the presence of the vice president for science and technology affairs.

In this ceremony, Sattari pointed out the creation of 300 thousand new occupations by knowledge-based and startup businesses, stating: the statistic of 60 thousand billion IRT for these businesses is indicative of increased role of knowledge-based area in the economy of the country, which will continue in this year as well.

Visit of Four Industrial and Technology Units in Ardabil

The vice president for science and technology affairs also visited the Sout Machine Co., exporter of engineering services and machinery for food industry, Radis San’at Houshmandan Artavil, producer and designer of advanced machineries, the knowledge-based company of Azar Sayan, designer and producer of container printing devices, and Electronic Pardazesh Sabalan Co., designer and producer of all kinds of automotive electronic components and electronic components and appliances.
