The vice president for science and technology affairs stated: if universities and research centers are able to create the proper ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship for academics, they have put correct steps toward enhancing the circle of science to wealth.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari entered the town of Golpayegan as another part of his provincial travel and attended a meeting with the students and academics’ center of Golpayegan, emphasizing the significant role of academics and science and research centers in the development of ecosystem of entrepreneurship. In this regard, he stated: the fundamental bases of an entrepreneurial ecosystem which is one of the major necessities of knowledge-based economy development exist in Golpayegan. However, it is necessary to eliminate oil economy from academic and scientific centers in a way that universities could be able to gain a considerable amount of revenues by selling the technology of knowledge-based companies and startups or through exchanging with the industry.

The vice president for science and technology affairs emphasized the presence of investment of the private sector in this ecosystem, expressing: the private sector has entered into the area of applied research, so that a capacity such as five thousand students, and presence of industrial centers and problems of the town, each with their own potential capacity for creating innovative ideas, could be turned into jobs and added value.   

The president of the national elites foundation reminded that infrastructures must be created so that applied research could be formed from basis levels. In this regard, coordination has been made with the ministry of education to supply the equipment of student research centers. In addition, the Vice-Presidency is prepared for increasing the support in this field.

The vice president for science and technology affairs emphasizing the passing from resource-based economy to a dynamic and entrepreneurial economy based on innovation, expressing: if entrepreneurial issues exist in universities in order to enable professors to implement their ideas, the universities are definitely on the right path, and the circle of science to wealth production will be complete.

Sattari also visited the Khansar Post-tensioning Co., producer of steel wire ropes and cables, and visited the achievements of students and graduates of the technical school of Golpayegan.
