According to the vice president for science and technology affairs, the Supreme Leader has paid special attention to the youth, knowledge, technology, and knowledge-based economy in the statement of “second step of revolution”, expressing that the future of the country is in this path. Promotion of culture of devotion must be associated with this path.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, devotion has eight letters but a world of meanings and concepts. This concept is understood by those who have dedicated themselves to this path.

Knowledge, technology and innovation are persistent like devotion, and those who have devoted to the path of science and technology have remained and created persistence. Nothing lasts more than knowledge and technology.

 The Great Position of Human Resources

Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, attended the 56^th ceremony of Alborz Awards, held every year to honor the devotees of science and technology.

Pointing out the statement of second step of revolution and emphasis of knowledge, technology, youth, and knowledge-based economy by the Supreme Leader, Sattari expressed: in the statement of second step of the revolution, the Supreme Leader has focused on the youth, in a way that the word “youth” has been repeated 40 times in the statement.

Sattari explained the importance of providing the suitable environment as one of the most important components of moving from resource-based economy to knowledge-based economy, adding: this ecosystem demands the help and cooperation of all people. In the new culture, the society does not depend on financial assets and think about the intellectual assets of the creative youth for the future of the country. In addition, the top universities of the world have been created with the thought of devotion. In order to return to the golden era of Iranian scientists, we need a serious determination to create such an environment.

Necessities of Attention to Research by People

According to the vice president for science and technology affairs, while considerable expenses are devoted to research by the government, we are still far from an innovative economy, effective, revenue-generating and human resource innovation studies. The solution is investment in this part by the private sector. In fact, the people must support innovative human resources.

The president of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter stated in the culture of ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship, the asset of knowledge-based businesses is not in the pocket but the mind of creative and young founders of businesses. In this respect, he added: the creative and educated youth working in the ecosystem of entrepreneurship, who guide technological and innovative businesses with their innovations, have started their move with the help of this support. These individuals established their companies worth of billions of tomans in a short duration and will soon take the place of the largest income-generating businesses. Meanwhile, innovation and determination of the youth are among the assets of these businesses. 

According to Sattari, self-confidence, self-belief and resilience of the youth, who can create changes, are the root of the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. The culture that relies on oil revenues suppresses these innovations and reduces the expectation of being recruited by the graduated youth. Therefore, the infrastructures of this culture must be changed in order to recognize the position of wealth creation and innovation of the youth.

Devotees Are Pioneers of Ecosystem Development 

The vice president for science and technology affairs regarded science and technology devotees as the pioneers of cultural transformation to knowledge-based economy, affirming: the late Alborz and similar individuals (e.g., the late Afzalipour) devoted their life, asset and interest in devotion and paved the way for focusing on innovative ideas of the youth, as well as knowledge and technology.

The vice president for science and technology affairs expressed his content with the trend of formation of the devotion process and attention to the position of knowledge-based economy and hoped that better support will be provided in all areas, specially devotion, and their attitude toward this area has been improved. In this regard, he declared: the future of the country depends on the development of this culture that involves the separation of the economy from underlying resources and toward human resources.

Honoring Scientists and Science and Technology Devotees

The 56^th Alborz Awards was held by appreciating top scientists, students, inventors, religious trainees, as well as medical, engineering, and human sciences students. In this ceremony, the top individuals received a statue and prizes from Seyed Mahdi Khamoushi, the head of Oghat Organization, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs and president of the national elites foundation, Heydar Arshadi, CEO of Alborz Culture Foundation, and Abdollah Jasebi, the former head of Islamic Azad University.
