The first stage of the ninth student nano festival was held at the center of instructor training and technical and vocational research of Karaj by the efforts of the nanotechnology development headquarter and in the presence of 110 works from across Iran with the help of Nano Club.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, a total of 22 articles were presented orally, whereas 78 articles and 10 structural works were presented as poster and individually, respectively in the presence of judges of the festival.

Call for this round of student nano festival was announced December 2017 and continued to May 5^th 2018. In this round, 300 works including 219 research articles, 30 structural works and 51 art works were delivered to the secretariat of the festival.

These works were evaluated in the section of articles and structural works. Eventually, 100 articles and 10 structural works were entered into the first stage of the festival. The art works were judged in one session and their results will be announced this October.

After the first stage of the festival and evaluation of works by judges, 57 works, including 52 articles and five structural works were introduced on the closing ceremony of the first stage of the event to enter the second stage.

This selection is based on the quality of articles, method of presentation and time and space constraints in the second stage of the festival for presenting articles.

The East Azerbaijan, Kerman, and Tehran had the most articles (10, 9 and 8, respectively). In addition, the five structural works were selected from Alborz province.
