Challenges and strategies for the development of mapping engineering in the country were identified

 

Along with the international geospatial conference 2019 held in agriculture and natural resources campus in University of Tehran, the first specialized technology management panel was held in the field of geomatics with the title of “challenges and strategies for geomatics development in the country.”

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the panel was held by the efforts of the geomatics group of the national space and advanced transportation administration in the presence of activists of the field, including knowledge-based companies, associations and science poles, professors, students, and exploiting organizations.

Some of the most important topics of the event included geomatics challenges and potentials in the Country, strategies of geomatics in the country, parallel organizations in geomatics, priorities in geomatics development in the country, and development of geomatics knowledge business.

Yaser Ebrahimian Ghajari, the head of the geomatics group of the national space and advanced transportation administration, regarded the prioritized measures taken in line with the development of geomatics in the country to be the design of high-level documents, promotion and culture-building and supporting startups and knowledge-based companies in this field.

He considered the necessity of producing baseline maps by trustee organizations to meet the pressing needs of the government, especially for strategic purposes, and emphasized the strengthening of trustee status.

In addition to confirming the high potentials of the country in the geomatics field, Ebrahimian marked: supporting specialist human resources and the development of knowledge-based activities are fundamental strategies for transforming the country"s geomatics.
