The marine knowledge-based industries and technologies development headquarter translated the book of “Review of Maritime Transport” in order to recognize the current conditions and capacities of maritime transport in active companies of this field.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Safar Gholi, secretary of group of studies and planning of marine knowledge-based industries and technologies development headquarter, stated: maritime transport is considered as a necessity for economic and industrial development of countries. According to the latest reports, about 90% of global trade is carried out through international waters. Therefore, decision making about this area requires the evaluation of maritime transport developments and prediction of its condition in future years.

He continued: the book of “Review of Maritime Transport” is published by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in order to recognize the condition, capacities and situation of active countries in the area of maritime transport.

Safar Gholi also asserted: in this book, it is aimed to express the latest condition and progresses in the maritime transport area in the form of topics, such as developments in international trade, structure, ownership and registration of fleets, maritime transport costs, the most important harbors, and legal issues and improvements.
