The vice president for science and technology affairs stated: on the new round of cooperation between the Vice-Presidency and general staff of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, new facilities will be provided for those who are obligated to attend conscription. By these facilities, the subjected individuals can path their military service in the company.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, stated on a press conference on military-service facilities for active people working in knowledge-based companies that the most basic foundation for knowledge-based economy is the abilities and creativity of human resources. In this regard, he continued: the necessary foundations must be provided to create added value from this extraordinary capacity. Fortunately, the interactions between the Vice-Presidency and general staff of the armed forces have paved the way for using the capacity of soldiers in development of knowledge-based economy.

Sattari pointed out the implementation of the agreement between the Vice-Presidency and general staff of the armed forces, which was carried out last January, expressing: serious follow-ups of major general Bagheri and order of the supreme leader have led to the provision of new facilities for individuals subjected to conscription in knowledge-based companies. According to this agreement, the creative and knowledge-based companies of the private sector can benefit from the abilities of elites who must attend the military service program.

President of the national elites foundation regarded the optimal use of creative and educated human resources as a main axis of knowledge-based economy, affirming: military-service facilities is one of the six fundamental topics of the support program for knowledge-based companies. In this regard, measures have been taken so that those subjected to conscription could spend their military service time in a way that it would bring the highest benefits for companies, economy and occupation status of the country.

Sattari expressed his hope on presenting a mechanism to provide facilities in the measures taken with the cooperation of the general staff of the armed forces, so that the creative human resources could play a role in the knowledge-based economy and occupation of the country, causing an increase in the scientific pride of the country.

The vice president for science and technology affairs also mentioned: providing military-service facilities to knowledge-based companies is being implemented in the form of two projects of replacement of service in defense industries and being conscripted as a government staff instead of doing military service.

Use of Soldiers in Flourishing of Occupations and Economy in the Country

In this meeting, commander-in-chief Mahdi Farahi, commander of the training staff of the armed forces, pointed out the mean of 1200 inputs and outputs of the military service system on a daily basis, affirming: 40% of the individuals subjected to military service have academic degrees and within the age of 18-28 years. These individuals have a bright future ahead of them and can be used as a significantly beneficial opportunity for occupation and economy of the country and to improve the productivity of human resources.

Commander of the training staff of the armed forces pointed out the agreements made with the ministries of science, research and technology, agriculture, industry, mine and trade, and information and communications technology, stated: the agreements have been made and the capacities of science parks, research centers and universities will be used to apply the capabilities of soldiers in the knowledge-based area.

Realization of Skill Training of Armed Forces

Mousa Kamali, head of office of soldier human resources, mentioned the cooperation of the headquarter with the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs in three areas for using the scientific and skill abilities of subjected soldiers, affirming: in the first topic of cooperation and in the form of a soldier-researcher, elites and those working in army and national units, using the capacities of these units is presented in the form of strategic and defense programs of the country.

Sattari considered another part of this agreement as a way to increase the skill of individuals with academic degrees but without the necessary specialties.

According to Kamali, the third topic of cooperation between the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs and general staff of the armed forces was using 500 subjected soldiers in knowledge-based companies.
