The deputy for international affairs and technological exchange stated: by holding the first Asia-Pacific Innovation Forum, a foundation is laid for networking among the players of the economy of innovation and technology.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Ali Morteza Birang, deputy for international affairs and technological exchange, pointed out that the suggestion of holding the event was Iran was proposed to the socioeconomic commission of the Asia-Pacific Innovation Forum (ESCAP) on the opening ceremony of the event, asserting: Iran and ESCAP have recently initiated cooperation in innovation and technology field, according to which the Vice-Presidency recommended hosting the first APIF in Iran.

He continued: this idea was welcomed by ESCAP and now we are witnessing the glorious holding of the event.

According to Birang, this event has several features that can distinguish it from similar events. He also marked: some of these features include the society of representatives at the level of policy-making and decision-making in the field of science and technology from the majority of Asian and Pacific countries and international organizations related to science and technology.

Deputy for international affairs and technological exchange continued: focusing on exploring the status of startups as new, creative and dynamic actors in today"s economy to realize sustainable development and the design of a framework for networking among them are among other features of this international forum.

He continued: scientific discussions and exchange of experiences in field of policies and various tools for improving the role of startups in the sustainable development from inclusive innovations to the role of women in innovation and technology are also recognized as other features of the event.

In another part of his speech, Birang claimed: familiarity with the capacities and facilities of Iran as an important country in the region with the highly educated young manpower and vibrant ecosystem in innovation is also considered in this forum.

According to Birang, the international affairs and technological exchange center has aimed to make a great start in more efforts of Asian and Pacific countries to achieve a new model of science, technology, and innovation policy-making.

He added: this international organization attempts to more involve innovation for all people and all of their social, environmental, and economic needs.
