One of the honors and progresses of Iran in the field of science is training a generation of biotechnologists, some of whom have filled the gap in the field of bio-products in the country. One of the considerable actions in this field is producing bio medications, which has accelerated the pace of growth and development in Iran.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mostafa Ghanei, secretary of biotechnology development headquarter, expressed about the production of medications in Iran: in this regard, Iran has a suitable position. Currently, we export medications to 17 other countries.

He described the scientific growth of the country in the field of bio medications, asserting: no one would have thought that Iran, which was one of the importers of biomedicines, would export biomedicines to 17 countries one day.

Ghanei estimated saving currency in the country up to one billion dollars by selling these medications, adding: today, biomedicines are at the highest level of exported medications in the country. We have planned to supply the amount of medications imported through domestic production.

Secretary of biotechnology development headquarter claimed: when we talk about a product, it means that the relevant knowledge has been gained in the country.

He continued: when we talk about knowledge, it means that the necessary human resources exists in the country and must be properly exploited in this regard.
