According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, stated on the elite meeting of information technology in the judicial system of Iran: we have prevented the emergence of creativity and innovation in economy and entrepreneurship and research due to the oil-based economy. However, this process has been changed in the past years due to the gradual replacement of this area with the ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation.

He added: the culture of knowledge-based economy has now provided the condition for creative and entrepreneurial youth to create their own startups and play their role in improvement of knowledge-based economy in addition to considerable wealth creation in a short time.

Role-playing of the Government Section in Support of Research

Sattari emphasized the importance of entering of the private sector to the area of commercial research projects and creation of the foundation for emergence of research creativities for the private sector, expressing: governments must be involved in commercial and applicable research projects only as guidance not executive manager. In addition, the projects that are supposed to solve a problem or provide a service must be carried out by knowledge-based companies, startups, academics and activists of the private sector.

President of the knowledge-based economy, technology and science development headquarter affirmed that the ecosystem of entrepreneurship is the largest infrastructures of return of non-resident Iranian elites to the country, conveying: in the future, startups will be turned into the largest businesses of the society through the promotion of culture of development of knowledge-based economy and modification of general approach toward innovation and entrepreneurship.

Welcoming of Startups by the Community

Sattari stated that the public has welcomed knowledge-based companies and startup businesses, especially those in the service area, due to their ability to fill the gap of high-quality services, which are compatible with the condition of our country. In this regard, he added: people have significantly welcomed startups, especially those providing a specific service. This is mainly due to the fact that the required needs of the country are provided with low number of challenges, low cost and high quality.

According to the vice president for science and technology affairs, clarity is one of the major components of knowledge-based companies and startups. In this respect, he continued: creative businesses have brought clarity more than any time. In general, creation of a condition for growth of startups will prevent problems, such as smuggling goods, exit of currency by import and support of national product along with decreased tax and customs problems and creation of foundation for growth of startups.

He continued: technological businesses of citizen rights also play a role in this regard, in a way that a buyer from the most remote area can buy a product or service with cost and quality of the capital and major access centers.

Sattari added: the majority of successful startups have not used government loans and have been advanced with the investment of the private sector.
