Manager of patent association of the Vice-Presidency announced the improved ranking of international patent registration in Iran

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mahdi Zeyghami, manager of patent association, stated about the international patent registration of Iranian researchers: 117 patent registration requests in patent registration offices of America and Europe in 2017 have been published, which shows 25% growth in this regard, compared to 2016.

Manager of patent association continued: from this number, 114 requests have been published in patent registration office of America, 50% of which have been provided from Iran. Meanwhile, only 30% of patents registered in this office in 2016 were from Iran. Moreover, the rank of Iran has improved from 41 in 2016 to 38 in 2017.

The patent association of Iran is responsible for issues related to intellectual property and patent registration in all scientific areas. Some measures taken by the patent association of Iran include registration of patents in valid registration offices of the world, 90% support of total costs of patent registration, providing technical and special counseling in the standard drafting area, evaluation of domestic requests for patent registration referred to the general industrial property office and creation of a databank for valid registered patents.
