A joint cooperation agreement was signed between ministry of communications and Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the second agreement was signed between the ministry of communications and the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs with the aim of supporting knowledge-based companies and domestically produced goods.

This agreement was signed by Mahmoud Vaezi, minister of communication, and Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs. The major goal of this agreement is facilitation of knowledge-based business and development of technology-related occupations.

The “Payam Special Economic Zone” was selected due to the unique features of this region, such as being close to the capital, universities and research centers, industrial and technology centers and laboratories and having access to other required infrastructures of knowledge-based companies. Therefore, this region was the best choice for knowledge-based activities.

According to this joint agreement, the ministry of communication is obligated to provide lands for knowledge-based companies in the field of communication and technology with reasonable costs through Aviation Services Company and “Payam Special Economic Zone”. Another responsibility of this ministry is the provision of main infrastructures for establishment of knowledge-based industries, preparing the necessities for creation of knowledge-based product customs through counseling with ministry of economic affairs and finance.

Reciprocally, the vice president for science and technology affairs has committed to provide complementary infrastructures from national resources and encourage and guide knowledge-based companies to be established in “Payam Special Economic Zone”.

Both sides of this agreement must take the necessary measures to mutually create knowledge-based products customs and prepare venture capital fund.
