The unveiling ceremony was attended by Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, and Alireza Zali, the commander of corona disease management headquarters.

During the ceremony, Sattari mentioned that knowledge-based companies are supporting physicians, nurses and healthcare staff in the battle against coronavirus through their achievements. In this regard, he asserted: a proper ecosystem has been formed in the field of biotechnology in the past few years. In this critical situation, the activity of the ecosystem has assisted us through its achievements. Good things happened in the ecosystem of innovation and technology during the corona outbreak. In addition, the active centers of the ecosystem such as scientific centers, research centers and knowledge-based companies came to the field to keep the society alive by around the clock activities.

According to Sattari, unveiling this device is a good phenomenon in the ecosystem of innovation and technology. In this respect, he expressed: The country has been suffering from the disease for two months and we were able to manage it well, and all these good things are the result of investments in this ecosystem. As we have made progress in the production of diagnostic kits, we have now developed a new way to diagnose corona disease with this new technology using artificial intelligence. A method that is more accurate than the kit in stages of the disease. This is another achievement, along with the innovative solutions of knowledge-based companies.

According to the report, the students and graduates of Sharif University of Technology have gathered and formed the “IMed” team to be active in the path of development of knowledge and technology. The pneumonia diagnosis system of COVID-19 shows abnormalities not seen in the early stages of CT scans and estimates the infection area volume.

250,000 diagnosis kits are prepared to be delivered until May.

Sattari presented a report of measures taken to fight corona and achievements in this area, adding: two knowledge-based companies have received approved for producing 250,000 corona diagnosis kits until May. In addition, we have reached a production capacity of 100,000 kits per week. Recently, one of the companies has successfully performed tests related to fast diagnosis kits. The vice president for science and technology affairs also marked: two knowledge-based companies have also initiated producing ventilators.

The president of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter pointed out that most of the equipment required to fight the disease are internalized, adding: this act very important for this crisis when not even masks can be imported. A large volume of knowledge-based companies is currently active in the field of the required equipment. Drugs are also produced inside the country and hundreds of clinical trials are being performed due to the unknown nature of the virus. Therefore, the ecosystem has helped the country in this critical situation in a way that there is no need for import of specific equipment. However, there are shortages in mask area. Technological companies are creating 10s of production lines for hospital and N95 masks. In the next few days, a number of these lines will be presented to the private sector. Although the production capacity of the mask has quadrupled since the beginning of the crisis, there is a need to increase it.

During the ceremony, Hamidreza Zali, the commander of corona disease management headquarters in Tehran Province, mentioned: in this critical situation, we see big achievements of knowledge-based companies with the help of the researchers and support of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs.

He continued: unveiling this system is another measure taken to meet the needs of the healthcare staff. This unveiling is the result of interdisciplinary activities. Currently, CT scan is the most effective and applicable screening method and has the highest rate of effectiveness and accuracy for disease detection.

Parviz Karami, the secretary of the corona fight committee, presented a report of activities of the Vice-Presidency in the battle against coronavirus, mentioning that the headquarter started activities to produce medical equipment, masks, ventilators, kits and other knowledge-based equipment since the first days of corona outbreak. He also affirmed: the ecosystem of innovation and technology initiated accelerating activities to help the medical and healthcare staff since the outbreak of corona.

The president of the information center of the Vice-Presidency appreciated the efforts of media players, journalists, IRIB and social networks, adding: this movement would yield no achievements without the cooperation and support of the media players. Newspapers, the media, social networks, journalists and news agencies worked along with the medical team, producers and technologists to spread the news about the disease and prevent the spread of misconceptions and false information about the disease.
