According to the Communication and Information Center in the Vice Presidency of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, the fifth meeting of the Steering Council for Quantum Technologies was held at the Vice Presidency’s office, chaired by the Vice President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, and in the presence of relevant institutions.

Afshin initially referred to a meeting that had been held earlier on the subject of developing quantum sciences and technologies with the presence of the President and emphasized the achievement of a national program for developing quantum technologies in cooperation with all relevant institutions shortly, and considered the purpose of this action to be leadership, preventing parallel work, and accelerating progress in this field.

Establishing three quantum training laboratories next year

He considered investment in human resource development and training of specialists in this field to be one of the most important needs of the country and considered human resources to be one of the country's most important advantages.

For this purpose, it was decided that in addition to supporting experts from the Ministry of Science, the National Science Foundation and other related institutions, three educational laboratories would be established in 2025 with the support of the Vice Presidency of Science and Technology and several research and investigation laboratories would be established in cooperation with relevant institutions in the universities of the country in the field of quantum.

The Vice President of Science also considered it important to pay attention to product testing and evaluation laboratories to verify the accuracy of the activities carried out and stated that special measures will be taken in this regard next year.

It is worth noting that the development of applications was another issue discussed in this meeting, and it was decided that next year, applications of quantum technologies in relevant industries would be considered.
