At the opening ceremony of Hamshahri Media Innovation and Creativity Center, the Vice President of Science and Technology said: "Countries must pay attention to the development of knowledge-based and creative companies to ensure their power."
With the presence of Sorena Sattari, Vice President of Science and Technology, and Pirooz Hanachi, Mayor of Tehran, Hamshahri Media Innovation and Creativity Center officially started its activities. This center was established with the support of the Vice Chancellor for Science and Technology and Hamshahri Institute in front of the University of Tehran with a base of 1400 square meters.
Hamshahri Media Innovation and Creativity Center is a space for continuity, sustainability and profitability through strategic cooperation with nuclei and creative companies. By launching it, all students and media people who can come up with ideas in the field of media and communications can work with the consultants and specialists of this center and in line with its goals to turn ideas into products.
Referring to the goals of creating a Hamshahri Innovation House, Sattari said at the ceremony: "This is the beginning of a great movement in the field of print media." These media are not in a good position these days due to the development of digital media, and innovations must enter this field.
"Ideas have not yet been formed in the field of media innovation, but this start-up will have good results," said the head of the Knowledge-Based Economy and Development of Soft and Creative Industries.

Pointing out that traditional media should seek innovation, Sattari said: "Without these innovations, the media will not develop and will disappear." By creating such centers, we must open the way for innovations and creative ideas to enter the field of media.
Sattari added: the power of countries depends on the development of knowledge-based, technology and creative companies. This accelerates the competition and commercialization of ideas.

Pirooz Hanachi, the mayor of Tehran, also said at the ceremony: "Hamshahri newspaper was one of the tradition-breakers in the field of print media, and the launch of the Media Innovation and Creativity Center shows that there is innovation in the nature of this media."
He added: "If the print media does not move towards using innovations, they will not have a good time and will face serious challenges."
Also, Parviz Karami, Secretary of the Soft Technologies and Identity-Building Headquarters in the Vice Presidency of Science and Technology, said at the ceremony, referring to the high turnover of creative industries in the world: The turnover of these industries in the world is about 2.7 trillion dollars, of which Iran's share is about 150 million dollars.
Karami added: The development of creative industries in the country is a necessity. Hamshahri Media Innovation Center is a platform that can, along with empowering human resources, improve the ecosystem and form a creative economy and innovations in the field of media.
The Secretary of the Culture and Knowledge-Based Economy and Development of Soft and Creative Industries Headquarters, referring to the high capacity of the University of Tehran in the field of culture and art development, said: About 50% of the graduates of the University of Tehran are capable in these areas.
