Development of technological interactions between Iran and Venezuela; Dehghani Firouzabadi: Cooperation is based on the market and needs

Vice President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy and the Minister of Science of Venezuela met and discussed the development of scientific, technological and market-oriented cooperation between the two countries.

Ruhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi, Vice President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy, referring to the pivotal role of this vice-presidency in the transformation of institutions and coordination for the development and prosperity in the knowledge-based economy and need-based technology, said: the vice-presidency of science and technology in recent years in Iran, It has played an important and strategic role for the development of science and technology, and due to the importance and position of the economy in this field, the government has assigned the steering and development of the knowledge-based economy to this vice presidency. Therefore, I welcome your presence in the Vice-Presidency of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy.

Dehghani Firouzabadi, referring to the existence of vast technological and market-based interaction and cooperation capacities between Iran and Venezuela, said: Venezuela's familiarity with Iran's scientific and technological capabilities, such as the Royan Research Institute, is a source of satisfaction and the basis for increasing technological cooperation. Before I was the vice president of science, technology and knowledge-based economy, I was the head of academic jihad, which operates as a subsidiary of Royan Institute. In addition to having high scientific ability and excellent research capacities in the field of infertility, this institution has proven its capabilities in the treatment of infertility. In Iran, there are many knowledge-based institutions and centers that can be the basis for cooperation between Iran and Venezuela.

The Vice-President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, stating that Venezuela is a rich country in terms of natural resources and human resources, said: We are interested to have teamwork in major areas such as stem cells, nanotechnology, biotechnology, agriculture and animal husbandry and other strategic areas.

Referring to the increasing role and position of knowledge-based companies in Iran's economy, he added: Fortunately, knowledge-based companies have reached a stage and position where their role and influence in the economy is inevitable, and due to the long-standing friendship and cooperation of the two countries, interaction on the axis of knowledge-based companies can play an important role in the sustainable development of the two countries.

Dehghani Firouzabadi, stating that the coordination and interaction between the executive bodies and ministries is essential for technological cooperation, said: the Vice-Presidency of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy in the new period of his activities, on establishing coordination and developing cooperation between ministries and institutions are emphasized to carry out the role and duties in the knowledge-based economy. Knowledge-based economy is something that reaches its real development in coordination and synergy between ministries and institutions.

The market-oriented role of innovation and technology houses

The Vice-President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, pointing to the need for a need-oriented and market-based role of innovation and technology houses, including in Venezuela, stated: an important issue and the axis of cooperation between Iran and Venezuela is Iran's technology and innovation house in Venezuela. In this house, the need-oriented approach and recognition of market needs should be prioritized. Although at the beginning of cooperation, the supply-oriented approach can be the beginning of cooperation; However, sustainable cooperation and real development are formed when the market and needs of countries are realized.

Dehghani Firouzabadi emphasized that the house of innovation should not be a place only to display achievements and products, and stated: We must have resident experts in the house of innovation who, like cultural consultants, play the role of scientific and technological consultants and knowledge-based economy.

Creating real needs and real opportunities

Referring to the presence of knowledge-based technology and economy consultants in Venezuela, he said: If specialized forces reside in Venezuela and can get in touch with the industries and needs of that country, the needs will be more realistically identified and more real opportunities will be provided for cooperation. This kind of attitude makes cooperation opportunities to form automatically and there will not be much need for government intervention. Therefore, I request that the opportunity will be provided for the stay of specialists and the establishment of communication with industries.

Development of scientific and technological cooperation

In another part of this meeting, Gabriela Jimenez, Minister of Science and Vice-President of Venezuela, also pointed out Iran's admirable and remarkable scientific and technological achievements and capabilities and stated: Whenever I travel to Iran, I have the feeling that in I am present in my own country and observing the capabilities and technological achievements of Iran is a very valuable model and a foundation for the development of cooperation between the two countries. During my visit to Royan Institute and familiarizing myself with the activities of this institute, I found out that Iran has considerable capacities in scientific and technological development, especially in the field of cell therapy.

 

Referring to the development of scientific and technological cooperation between Iran and Venezuela, especially during the Corona era, she said: The cooperation between Iran and Venezuela increased during the Corona era and due to the importance of this issue. Fortunately, we were able to take advantage of Iran's technological capabilities in the field of diagnostic kits. These kits proved their efficiency and the results of the tests showed that the kits made in Iran are of very high efficiency and quality. Also, two Venezuelan researchers spent 4 months at the Royan Institute and will bring a precious and valuable hopeful experience to Venezuela.

Emphasizing that this interaction and cooperation should be increased, Jimenez continued: We welcome Iranian scientists in Caracas, and in the form of a joint cooperation, Venezuelan scientists and researchers will be stationed in Iranian scientific and research centers. We are ready to develop a joint science and technology park. Recently, a stem cell research center was established in Venezuela to perform corneal stem cell transplantation for the first time in Latin America. The capacities of this collection can achieve significant achievements in line with the capabilities of Iranian scientists.

Minister of Science and Vice-President of Venezuela, referring to the cooperation of Iranian knowledge-based companies and Venezuelan industries in the framework of the Iranian Companies Exhibition in Caracas, said: Two months ago, we witnessed the first exhibition of knowledge-based companies in Venezuela, and Iranian companies cooperated in realizing this exhibition. they did 200 companies attended this event and 60 cooperation contracts were signed. We tried to provide a field for interaction and synergy between companies and they can have technological and economic cooperation with their counterparts. Emphasizing that for the development of cooperation between the companies of the two countries, the necessary grounds must be defined for providing infrastructure to the companies, guaranteeing the fulfillment of agreements and supporting mechanisms, he asked the vice president of science, technology and knowledge-based economy to be in Venezuela and visit Science and Technology Park of this country.

The formation of technological cooperation in the form of a joint committee

In this meeting, Mehdi Ghalenoei, the head of the Center for International Scientific and Technological Interactions, referring to the responsibility of the vice presidency of science, technology and knowledge-based economy in the joint scientific and technological committee of Iran and Venezuela, said: in the joint meetings and interactions that take place in the framework of this committee taken, good agreements and various clauses have been drafted that can be the basis for increasing cooperation in the field of knowledge-based economy.

He added: Among the 60 understandings concluded at the exhibition of knowledge-based companies in Venezuela, 5 understandings have now reached the contract stage.
