“Character design” is the title of a competition held by the patent registration office of the Vice-Presidency to witness the promotion and culture-building of the field in various strata.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the patent registration office of the Vice-Presidency will hold a competition entitled “character design”. The competition is open to the public, and enthusiasts of the field can send their ideas to the office until August 22^nd, 2019. One goal of the competition is promotion of invention in various strata of the society, and participation in the event will provide an opportunity to familiarization with activities of the center. While the character can be a human or an imaginary creature, its feature of being an inventor must be considered. In addition, using an Iranian character and designing it at different ages are other features of the competition.

When the spark of an idea comes to mind, a person must pass an unfamiliar path. The patent registration office of the Vice-Presidency is one of the units that support inventors on this path. With 90% support of researchers, the patent office takes steps along with the inventors of the country to realize the official registration of achievements and establish ownership of individuals over their innovation and invention. On the other hand, promoting this field is another objective to witness its improvement in the country.

The center was established in 2005 as an intellectual properties unit of nanotechnology development headquarter and was formed into the patent registration office of Iran in 2014 with the agreement of the Vice-Presidency to follow up the affairs related to intellectual properties, especially patent registration, in all science and technology sectors.
