A contract is concluded on cooperation in development of a product of a subway train rail of Tehran in the presence of Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, and Pirouz Hanachi, the mayor of Tehran, with the cooperation of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs and the cooperation of Iran national innovation fund.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, a cooperation agreement was signed between Sattari and Hanachi to produce a subway trail rail by a knowledge-based company. In addition, a consortium encompassing Mapna Locomotive, Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research, Taam Locomotive Knowledge-based Co., Tehran Wagon Co., Pars Wagon Co., Green Plour Industrial Group, and Network Rail Industries Development Corporation (Ayrykv) was formed to localize the relevant equipment and technologies and have maximum presence of Iranian companies in this contract.

This contract was signed by Hamidreza Tayebi, head of the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research, Ali Vahdat, chief executive board of Iran national innovation fund, Mohammad Emam, CEO of Tehran Wagon Co., Esmaeil Ghaderifar, head of the strategic technologies development center, Manouchehr Manteghi, the chairman of Iran national space and advanced transportation development headquarter, and Khodaei, CEO of Mapna Locomotive Co.

Participation in development, design, and construction of a metro train including locomotives, wagons, rails, stations and other accessories for Tehran metro lines using the existing domestic capacities in the country and the cooperation of a credible international designer is the subject of this contract.

The goal of this cooperation is to work together to develop subway wagons for Tehran"s lines, and the two sides will cooperate in designing and manufacturing industrial samples from an 8-wagon rail line for domestic subway lines in Tehran. Within the framework of this contract, an Iranian train with 85% domestic production capacity will be produced, tested and launched simultaneously for 18 months and will be launched on Tehran subway rails.

In addition, in the second phase of the contract, mass production of 420 subway wagons for Tehran subway lines will be carried out through a contract between Tehran Subway Co. and domestic companies. The duration of phase 1 is 18 months, and the contract for mass production will be signed within the next three months.

The Vice-Presidency and the Iran national innovation fund will become the employer of Tehran Subway and will financially support the knowledge-based companies that are the members of the consortium within the framework of regulations.
