“Startups with the billion asset” create the foundation for entering of economy into the export area

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, pointed out the significant presence of creative knowledge-based businesses in the meeting for signing an agreement between the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs and Export Development Bank of Iran, stating: the successful startups, which have been formed by innovative students and elites and currently have the income of billions of dollars, have paved the path for presence of the economy of Iran in the international area.

According to Sattari, the engine of the economy of the country has improved from large government companies to knowledge-based startups and enterprises. In this regard, he added: 400 thousands billion IRR turnover is the result of entrepreneurship of successful knowledge-based companies and startups in the economy field of the country, which can be elevated by eliminating the barriers and creating a suitable ecosystem for entrepreneurship and innovation.

Sattari mentioned that the evolution in the economy is due to the significant role of startups and obtaining a high-paying rank of economic agencies by startups, adding: the economy of the country is being fundamentally changed which is due to the presence of knowledge-based companies. While their presence has no reliance on the government, it is getting larger and is allocated a high-paying status among the economic agents with an accelerated pace.

President of the national elites foundation emphasized the necessity of creation of an appropriate business environment for knowledge-based companies, marking: the law to support knowledge-based companies follows the creation of an appropriate business environment for knowledge-based companies in the structure of economy of the country. Creation of this environment requires the support of execution, legislative and financial structures, such as banks, to support knowledge-based companies.

He also pointed out the support of the creation of proper infrastructures for presence of knowledge-based companies in the international area by the Vice-Presidency, affirming: export is very difficult, especially in the knowledge-based area, and obtaining licenses and standards, international record, and interaction and competition with foreign counterparts are a small part of the obstacles in this field. However, realization of regular programs to support the export of knowledgeable products might pave the way for presence in the international area.

Mechanism for Banking Support of Knowledge-based Companies Has Been Created

Alireza Daliri, deputy for management and resources development headquarter, pointed out the formation of investment infrastructures, expressing: creation of attention to the infrastructures of support of knowledge-based companies in the investment field increases the necessity of evaluation and allocation of banking resources to knowledge-based companies more than ever.

Creation of a Suitable Infrastructure for Export of Knowledge-based Companies

During this meeting, Ali Morteza Birang, deputy for international affairs and technological exchange, stated: in higher-level documents, the necessity of support of knowledge-based companies has been emphasized. In this regard, the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs has been assigned some missions in line with the support of export of knowledge-based companies.

Deputy for international affairs and technological exchange mentioned more than 60 export service providers that are virtually active in the export corridor of knowledge-based companies’ products.

Implementation of the Banking Support Process of Export of Knowledge-based Companies

Ali Salehabadi, CEO of Export Development Bank of Iran, pointed out the implementation of facilitating support of the knowledge-based companies, stating: since the beginning of this year, 497 billion IRR has been allocated to knowledge-based companies from the resources of this bank in the form of 100 loan facilities.

Facilitation of Customs Activities of Licensed Economic Activists

Seyed Mohammad Sahebkar, head of affairs of knowledge-based companies and institutes, mentioned the interaction between the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs and customs organization of Iran for facilitation of the activities of knowledge-based companies known as enabled economic activist, affirming: with the notification of the chief customs officer, we are following up the implementation of this notification by customs blocks to facilitate the export and import process of knowledge-based companies.

Signing of Cooperation Agreement and Appreciation of Export Knowledge-based Companies

According to the agreement between the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs and export development bank of Iran, which was signed by Salehabadi and Daliri, improvement of the export ability of knowledge-based companies through the facilitation of access to financial and export resources has been taken into account.

According to this agreement, which is valid for three years, introducing knowledge-based companies with the ability of export, providing educational services and facilitating the issuance of credit guarantee are some parts of the mentioned agreement.

Moreover, the export development bank of Iran is committed to cooperate in needs assessment of the introduced knowledge-based companies, empowering of these companies to enter the process of attracting the support of financial institutes and accepting the warranties of the national science foundation.

 

After signing the cooperation agreement, 10 top knowledge-based companies were honored in the presence of the vice president for science and technology affairs, deputy for management and resources development headquarter, and CEO of the export development bank of Iran.
