“Development” will become “stable” with the innovation of the youth

During his trip to Mazandaran province, the vice president for science and technology affairs attended the “knowledge-based economy and production flourishing” meeting in the presence of the governor and some economic activists of the province to talk to the activists of the innovation ecosystem of the province.

In the meeting, Sattari pointed out the great hidden capacities of Mazandaran in development of the knowledge-based economy, stating: the country"s path to salvation and potential for further development is not focused on underground resources. Rather, this success is defined by the creativity and innovation of young people whose abilities can unburden society and create added value.

Sattari considered universities as the initiators of fundamental changes of the society in the path of becoming knowledge-based, affirming: the large number of students and faculty members in the university is a blessing that Mazandaran province should base its sustainable development on this valuable capital. A province that has such valuable capital should make the most of it. This is made possible by changing attitudes from a raw economy that only values material assets to an economy whose basis is manpower and creativity.

It Is “Innovation” that  Creates Wealth, Not Raw Sources

 

The president of the national elites foundation considered innovation as the creator of value added, asserting: thanks to the innovation of knowledge-based activists, medicines are being manufactured in the country, with each multigram vial worth more than tens of barrels of crude oil. What matters is that the real surplus currency lies not in quantity but in innovation and technology. Mentioning the production of advanced drugs as the most important activity of knowledge-based companies, Sattari affirmed: 98% of human drugs are domestically produced.

He also explained the importance of railing for self-sufficiency and production of knowledge of the country"s needs in the field of food and animal medicine, adding: along the way, we have taken great strides and are leading knowledge-based companies to this field. Mazandaran province also has good capacities in this field, which is assisted by knowledge-based companies and startups in product development, value added and employment.

He considered this issue to be relying on the formation of an ecosystem for emergence of creativity and innovations of creative human resources, continuing: beyond material support, there is the opportunity and ecosystem for a creative and entrepreneurial young workforce to put their ideas into practice. The law to support knowledge-based companies with more than 140 services, which is constantly growing, is a step towards boosting this ecosystem.

Necessity of Formation and Flourishing of “Ecosystem” 

The president of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter regarded the formation of the market and support of Iranian products as the necessities of formation of knowledge-based economy, expressing: commercialization is one of the most important issues of knowledge-based companies. These companies must use their own ability and free themselves from relying on oil credits.

Emphasizing the effective role of the private sector in boosting of the ecosystem, Sattari declared: the prosperity of a knowledge-based economy is not possible except with the will of the people and officials within the province, and sustainable development is something that is at the heart of a society. The private sector plays a key role in this field, with a knowledge of community needs and concerns. Therefore, the foundation must be laid for the presence and activity of this sector. Fortunately, the new generation of science and technology parks of the country relies on the abilities of the private sector.

Traveling to east of Mazandaran to support knowledge-based companies and the flourishing of innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, the vice president for science and technology affairs visited the technological achievements of knowledge-based companies and opened the main building of the science and technology park of the province. In addition, Sattari met with the Friday Imam of Sari, visited the growth center of technological units of the universities of the province, and the achievements of the technological activists based on the center.
