Workshop of Advanced Biomaterials in Regenerative Medicine Was Held
The workshop of advanced biomaterials in regenerative medicine was held with the support of stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter and by the efforts of the oil and chemistry engineering faculty of Sharif University of Industry.
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, a workshop was held with the title of advanced biomaterials in regenerative medicine during September 8th-10th, 2018 by the efforts of the oil and chemistry engineering faculty of Sharif University of Industry. The main topics of this workshop included introduction to new biomaterials and their application in various medicine and regenerative medicine fields.
On the first day of the workshop, Amir Ali Hamidieh, secretary of stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter, stated about the definitions and applications of stem cells and regenerative medicine by providing different contents, pointing out the future of medical sciences and use of stem cells in the treatment of different types of incurable diseases. In this regard, he stated: in the path, contagious diseases, such as cholera, was of great importance and cancer was a deadly disease. However, some cancer diseases can be treated by hematopoietic stem cell transplant. In this respect, Hamidieh continued: today, attitudes toward the rescue of a person by a doctor have been modified and this belief has been emerged in scientific societies that cooperation between various fields, including engineering, bio-sciences, and medical sciences, is crucial for the advancement of stem cells sciences and technologies and regenerative medicine, which will increase the life expectancy and health of society members.
Secretary of stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter explained about the activities of the headquarter, including holding specialized working groups in the presence of a number of base, clinical and engineering professors, provincial councils of stem cells and regenerative medicine, establishment of the comprehensive center of stem cells and regenerative medicine in three provinces, establishment of the first national laboratory animal center of the country in Kerman, holding school and university Olympiads, participation in the development and issuance of the first principles for registration and entrance of biological products with an emphasis on cell, tissue and gene.
