According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mohammad Mokhber Dezfuli, secretary of supreme council for cultural revolution, stated on the closing ceremony of biotechnology festival of Iran that our country is at its start point in the current scientific evolutions, emphasizing: we have just taken a step in the advancement path, and other countries can invest progressively, which will turn the life of our people.

Mokhber Dezfuli pointed out the importance of support of knowledge-based companies through various solutions, such as loan and export, expressing: knowledge-based companies must be supported and their path must be paved.

Mentioning the variety of energies in Iran, which must be released, he continued: in some sections, we have created barriers for researchers instead of providing facilities and services for these individuals.

Secretary of supreme council for cultural revolution affirmed: we want to export our biotechnology-related products. Today, we are more import-oriented than export-oriented.

Intelligence of the Authorities in Selection of Biotechnology as the Class-A Priority

Moreover, Mostafa Ghanei, secretary of biotechnology development headquarter pointed out the high growth of biotechnology in the world on the closing ceremony of the fourth biotechnology festival of Iran, asserting: with regard to high growth of biotechnology in the world, Iran has a serious job in earning a percentage of the global market in this regard, which required more endeavors.

Secretary of biotechnology development headquarter reported the status of Iran in production and publication of scientific articles to be at an acceptable level, adding: Iran has ranked 13-14 in the world in terms of production of scientific articles, which is an acceptable rank.

Regarding actions performed in the exhibition of this year, Ghanei stated: 14 workshops were held in this exhibition and 485 licenses were issued.

Ghanei pointed out the presence of foreign delegations in the festival of this year, expressing: delegations participating in this exhibition came from Pakistan, Utopia, India, Sri Lanka, and Lebanon, with which some contracts were concluded.

Approval of Proper Laws for Support of Knowledge-based Companies is Essential

Mohammad Mahdi Zadehi, head of research and education committee of supreme council for cultural revolution, mentioned the supportive laws of Islamic consultative assembly to support knowledge-based companies, affirming: we have approved various laws in the area of support of technology and knowledge-based companies. If attention is paid to these regulations, significant changes can be observed in development of new technologies and association of industry and university.

Zahedi confirmed the science production cycle, conveying: we need to increase the export rate of the country with high technologies from eight to three regions until 1400 (2021), and we believe that we can achieve both.

Biotechnology Increases Life Expectancy of People

During this ceremony, Ali Vatani, technology development deputy of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, pointed out that biotechnology reminds life expectancy, stating: the word “biotechnology” brings life expectancy for people, and many problems of the society can be solved by this field.

Introducing the Selected Works in the Fourth Biotechnology Exhibition

Selected works of the fourth biotechnology festival and exhibition were introduced and awarded.

In addition, selected works of biotechnology were appreciated.

Biotechnology prize was given to three competitive groups of top companies (new, production, industrial) and top technology.

Moreover, a certificate of appreciation was provided for a top researcher.
