According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs quoted by the government information base, the meeting of nanotechnology development headquarter was held June 11th 2018 by the presidency of the first vice president.

Eshaq Jahangiri pointed out the reports presented on the nanotechnology achievements, production of a significant amount of ISI articles on nanotechnology and nano products in the country and appreciated the work of the activists of this field, confirming the need to support this technology in the country.

The first vice president stated: despite the short duration from the onset of activities of this headquarter, acceptable achievements have been obtained in this field. In addition, reports indicate that Iran is ranked 5th in the world in terms of nano articles.

He continued: fortunately, Iran is very close to developed countries in the nanotechnology section, and extensive efforts must be dedicated to maintain this rank and huge steps must be taken in science and nano product creation and finding the market for these products.

Jahangiri mentioned the demand of the representative of the nanotechnology headquarter regarding the increase of the budget to support active companies of this field, requesting for holding meetings to evaluate the budget issues in nanotechnology section and emphasizing the necessity of supporting this area.

In this meeting, which was attended by ministers of industry, mine and trade, sciences, research and technology, and the vice president for science and technology affairs, the representative of nanotechnology marked that one of the most important goals of the headquarter is wealth production and improvement of the quality of life of people. In addition, he explained about the report on nanotechnology achievements and the process of ISI article production of Iranian experts in the past 17 years.

He also presented a report on the nanotechnology product development and the number of active companies in the nanotechnology field and their products, asking for more support of these companies by the government.
