One of the goals of Iran national space administration is using space technologies to develop the economy of the country by knowledge-based companies.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, with regard to the activities of the space organization in design and manufacturing of satellites, the Iran national space administration has focused on using space technologies to develop the economy of the country by knowledge-based companies and space services, which is seriously followed up this year.

Space technologies are used in more than 70 countries in order to develop the economy in areas of water resource management, soil and forests, mine exploration and the amount of their reserves, management of agriculture to improve water consumption management, supervision of flood crisis, burning of jungles, traffic and reduction of road losses.

Moreover, the national space administration plays the role of policy-making, coordinating, planning and monitoring between active organizations and units of the field. In addition, it is active in the area of development of design and manufacturing of small satellites in private knowledge-based companies.
