Secretary of biotechnology development headquarter stated: one of the ways to improve the quality of agricultural products that are consumed by our people is using bio-fertilizers.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mostafa Ghanei, secretary of biotechnology development headquarter, expressed about producing healthy agricultural products: one of the priorities of the biotechnology development headquarter is reducing the consumption of chemical fertilizers in agriculture and reduction of hazards made by these toxins.

He continued: production of bio-fertilizers requires technologies, that are fortunately existing in the country at a high level. However, the market for these products must be formed in the country.

According to Ghanei, bio-fertilizers are products that have sufficient number of soil beneficial microorganisms.

He also asserted: bio-fertilizers are microorganisms that are able to turn soil elements into nutrients (e.g., vitamins and other minerals) over a biological process.

Secretary of the biotechnology development headquarter continued: in addition, bio-fertilizers are cost-effective and produce no pollution in the ecosystem. Moreover, bio-fertilizers maintain the beneficial microorganisms in soil.
