With the aim of supporting and expanding knowledge-based businesses in the field of equipment of mapping system, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs and mapping organization of the country.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Manouchehr Manteghi, the chairman of the national space and advanced transportation development headquarter, expressed on the ceremony for signing an agreement: we need the information in mapping organization to develop location-based technologies.

He continued: currently, various groups have been formed in the administration such as automobile and air rail, all of which seek to automate their services.

He also asserted: automation in these areas is not possible without access to accurate location-based information. A large part of this information is found in mapping organization.

Location-based Information as the Basis for Development of Transportation

According to Manteghi, the administration needs the help of the mapping organization in areas of supply of equipment and technology and services required in the location-based field.

He also marked: location-based information is one of the necessary infrastructures for development of transportation in the country. Therefore, we seek to improve this technology in the country with the help of knowledge-based companies.

The most important goal of this agreement is cooperation between the Vice-Presidency and mapping organization to support and expand knowledge-based businesses in the field of equipment of mapping and geomatics by graduates, entrepreneurs, research centers, and idea owners. 

Some of the responsibilities of the Vice-Presidency include identification, qualification and introduction of knowledge-based companies in the field of location-based, assisting in obtaining the necessary licenses, monitoring the conduct of research and research.
