The vice president for science and technology affairs visited the national macro project in Isfahan

Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, visited the national macro project in Isfahan simultaneously with the 40th anniversary of victory of Islamic revolution.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, this morning and along with provincial travels, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, traveled to Isfahan to visit the national macro project of “spontaneous desalination system”. This project is being carried out with the aim of using the capacity of knowledge-based companies in presenting innovative and technological solutions for management of water use and environmental challenges.

This system is used to convert salt water into desalinated water applied in industries and mineral salt extraction.

In addition, the tripartite agreement of this project was signed between the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs as contractor, Marun Petrochemical Complex (in Mahshahr) as beneficiary and Moein Zist Aria Co. as executor of the project.

Technological and Scientific Achievements of Researchers of Isfahan Were Visited

In this travel, Sattari visited Royan Biotechnology Research Center of Isfahan, knowledge-based companies based in Islamic Azad University (Isfahan branch) and the national macro project of “spontaneous desalination system”.

According to this report, the first place to visit was Royan Research Institute of Isfahan. The center is equipped with various laboratories such as genetics, stem cells and nanotechnology, which has yielded successful achievements by researchers.

In addition, Sattari visited the section where the simulated sheep are kept and nurtured.

Specific Needs of Industry Will Be Supplied

In the next section of this travel, Sattari visited four knowledge-based companies based in Islamic Azad University (Isfahan Branch).

The Knowledge-based Company of Meyar Danesh Pars is one of the most equipped laboratories of Isfahan province and the first company, achievements of which were visited by Sattari. The company meets special needs of the industries, especially the pharmaceutical, food, water and sewage industries and research centers of the country.

Hybrid Seeds Are Developed

In addition, the Research Center for Seed Production and Reproduction of Islamic Azad University of Isfahan was another knowledge-based company visited by the vice president for science and technology affairs.

This technology unit is operating as one of the research centers in the field of agricultural engineering. The activity of this research center was started with breeding and production seeds of the first generation of the greenhouse parthenocarpic cucumber. To date, the classic correction of plants, such as tomatoes, peppers, melons, watermelon, eggplant, onion and sesame oil, has been carried out in two greenhouse and land (outdoor) sites.

To date, three greenhouse hybrid seeds have been produced and named after being approved by the organization of seed certification control. In addition, they have been introduced to domestic markets and the markets of some foreign countries by large enterprises.

The Crisis of Dunes Will Be Solved

During the visit of companies based in Islamic Azad University of Isfahan, Sattari visited the Desertification Research Center and learned about the activities of this center in-person.

This center has been established due to the crisis of distribution of dunes and the increasing rate of desertification and wind erosion in the country and the need for research in this field. Therefore, the vice president for science and technology affairs visited the research project of the Research Center titled "the project of consolidation of dunes using clay mulch."

Sweets Will Be Produced with Natural Sugar

The knowledge-based company of Salamat Gostaran Araste, which produces “sweets with natural sugar”, was the final destination visited by Sattari in Isfahan Islamic Azad University. This center is an expert in producing traditional sweets enriched with pharmaceutical plants (functional food).
