The specialized meeting of determining the trend of implementation of the standardization system of knowledge-based products and initiation of the second phase of the project in 12 provinces of the country was held in the presence of the deputy of innovation and commercialization and deputy of quality assessment of national standards organization at the location of the Vice-Presidency.
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Peyman Salehi, deputy of technology development and commercialization, stated: standardization of technological and knowledge-based products and services to gain the right place for the country"s development in the world rankings, facilitating the international trade expansion and creating more value-added for raw materials, training and creating jobs for university graduates and reducing investment risk are effective in the manufacturing sector.
He pointed out: Knowledge-based product quality certifications, including COC based on the compliance of the desired product performance characteristics with a stated acceptable standard, product certification (COP) on the basis of the conformity of the characteristics described on the basis of the product"s performance if applicable, and the national and international standards and knowledge certification are a symbol for knowledge-based products confirming their quality according to a national standard.
In the end, Salehi appreciated the efforts and proper cooperation between the quality assessment deputy and managers and specialists of various organizations to meet the needs of knowledge-based companies, remembering the memory of the late Dr. Sheikh Zeinoddin, the late deputy of innovation and technology commercialization of the Vice-Presidency, who dedicated extensive efforts to the process of designing and implementing the standardization system of knowledge-based products.

During the meeting, Sahebkar Khorasani, the director general of the innovation and new business office of the innovation and technology commercialization headquarter, explained the importance of standardization, which is the driver of many innovations, talking about the determining of a roadmap for evaluation and support of knowledge-based companies and institutions.
Granting Standard Certification to Three Knowledge-based Products
On this ceremony, the COP/COC certifications were granted to three knowledge-based products that required the necessary approvals at their pilot stage in Tehran province.
Meloni, director general of the office of innovation and modern businesses, pointed out the initiation of the second step of the standardization project in 12 provinces of the country with the cooperation of standard offices and science and technology parks, explaining about the process of implementation of the project.
In addition, Darvish, the director general of the office for evaluation of the quality of products and services of the national standardization organization, explained the adaptation stylesheet and its implementation process in the provinces in detail.
