The second call for new convergent technologies is published

The convergent technology strategic center published the second call for new convergent technologies (NBIC Startups) with the goal of recognition of active startups in this field and helping the commercialization of their achievements.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the convergent technology strategic center published the second call for new convergent technologies (NBIC Startups). In this call, startups will have the chance to register and introduce their startup product and continue their activities in supportive organizations after passing the evaluation phases. Technologists, newly developed companies and researchers are recognized as the supply part while industrial companies and venture capital are known as the demand part. In this regard, accelerators are recognized as the intermediators of supply and demand.

This program can provide the necessary platform for recognition of achievements of technologists and innovators of the country in the field of convergent technologies, providing the support for the creation of entrepreneurial teams and introducing these teams to business developers and investors. Given the lack of familiarity of technologists with the process of product and business development, after the recognition of newly developed innovative companies, they will be supported by the convergent technology strategic center in a pre-acceleration course to learn about these issues and assess their startup product.

Support of Startups by 20 Accelerators and 4 Supportive Centers

On the second call, 20 accelerators and supportive centers for business development have announced their preparedness to support startups, which shows a significant improvement, compared to the first round. One of the features of the second call is the presence of technical supportive centers. In total, four technical centers will provide the proper infrastructure for startups so that they could benefit from technical counseling of the centers to develop their products in a place with laboratory and workshop equipment.
