The international conference and exhibition of materials engineering and metallurgy is the title of an event, which will be held by the knowledge-based economy, technology and science development headquarter, to facilitate the investment in the area of mines and industries.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the sixth international conference and exhibition of materials engineering and metallurgy, known as Imat2017, will be held in Olympiad Hotel of Tehran October 28^th-29^th, 2017 as an event for catchers of ideas. This gathering of all mining and metallurgical industries from A to Z will be held to facilitate the presence and evaluation of possibility of guaranteed investment in the area of mines and industries of Iran and to decrease economic dependency to oil industries.

In addition, presenting developed technologies in the area of mineral materials and industries and emphasis on the creation of mutual cooperation between those involved in the industries of Iran with all active companies of this field are some of the other purposes of this event.

According to this report, 550 out of 1080 received articles have been accepted, which will be presented by experts of this field in two days. Moreover, “Knowledge-based Economy” is the title of a panel, which will be held in the presence of representatives of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs. Mahmoud Mehrdad Shokrieh, secretary of advanced materials and construction technologies development headquarter, will also present a lecture in this event. On the other hand, educational workshops will be held in this ceremony as well.

Some of the most important topics that will be in this conference include material engineering, industrial metallurgy, extraction metallurgy, physical metallurgy and materials science, casting and freezing, strategic management and environment and simulation. Furthermore, an exhibition will be held in the presence of technological companies, where experts showcase their achievements and abilities.
