The fourth special issue of lasers and photonics technology is published

The fourth special issue of lasers and photonics technology is published with the cooperation of laser photonics and micron structures technologies development headquarter.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the fourth special issue of lasers and photonics technology (December), includes nine sections with various topics and contents, such as “Album, first word, interview, from science to wealth, perspective, laser news, pioneers, guidance and technology school”, and is published in 84 pages. A summary of its various sections is presented below.

“Prize of »Prizam« for innovation in photonics” and use of lidar in future automobiles are some of the issues presented in this special issue. The prize of “Prizam” for innovation in photonics is a global competition, awarding the best photonic products in the market of each year. Winners of this competition will be introduced this January 2018. In addition, General Motors is only one step away from producing self-driving cars with the use of lidar in future cars. They will soon unveil their achievements in this area, which are equipped with laser systems.

Pioneers of Lasers

In this section, “An Innovative Iran in the Area of Optics” is introduced. Kamaledin Farsi, one of the prominent Iranian scholars and physicians with valuable evaluations in optics, provided insight on production of some equipment, such as camera, telescope and microscope.

Invention of Lasers

Laser is invented by a person who was known before producing lasers. In this section, some explanations on lasers, light improving issue and patent registration are provided.

Guidance

“Guidance for treatment applications of low-power lasers” of this section is the translation of the mentioned book about the therapeutic applications of low-power lasers containing images and diagrams and presenting valid references. In addition, special software of (COMSOL) is introduced as a powerful physical simulation software with the ability of simultaneous simulation of phenomenon with different natures in various dimensions.

Technology School

 

Several descriptions are presented on light polarization, how to provide light polarization, polarization via transfer, how objects are seen with polarized light, polarization of light through fracture, polarization of light using dispersion, light polarization by reflection and applications of polarization.
