The first symposium of cognitive rehabilitation will be held with the support of cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter in the faculty of psychology and educational sciences in order to provide the condition for exchange of research and scientific findings between researchers and experts of the country. 

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the first symposium of cognitive rehabilitation will be held with the support of cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter to evaluate solutions for cognitive rehabilitation and provision of rehabilitation services to patients diagnosed with psychological disorders and exchange of scientific and research findings among researchers and experts of this field. Peyman Hasani Abharian, executive secretary of the symposium, pointed out that cognitive rehabilitation is a way to help patients increase their abilities in the processing and interpreting of information. In this regard, he stated: the aim of this act is to help those with psychological disorders to have the ability to perform daily activities in order to improve or compensate for defects in brain functions.

According to Abharian, cognitive rehabilitation is an effort to return the lost cognitive capacities or improve these potentials. He affirmed: cognitive rehabilitation is a method to improve the cognitive performances of healthy individuals with cognitive performance at an acceptable and natural level.

The first symposium of cognitive rehabilitation will be held June 21^st 2018 for two days at the location of Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, University of Tehran.
