The first interdisciplinary student association of cognition and brain is established by the support of headquarters for development of cognitive science and technologies and efforts of capable students of Gilan University.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, this association has been registered and established according an agreement between the headquarters for development of cognitive science and technologies and ministry of science, research and technology regarding the establishment and promotion of cognition and brain student scientific associations. Soon, we will witness the growth of cognitive sciences in universities of Iran. In addition, given the interdisciplinary nature of cognitive science area, this association consists of students from fields of psychology, basic sciences and technical and engineering sciences.

Development of cognitive sciences, interdisciplinary scientific and research interactions, creation of synergy between related fields and proper creation of infrastructures for familiarization of other students with cognitive sciences are some of the goals of this student association.
