As the head of a high-ranking delegation consisting of 45 knowledge-based companies, the vice president for science and technology affairs traveled to east of Africa.
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, traveled to east of Africa (Kenya and Uganda) as the head of a high-ranking delegation encompassing representatives of ministry of health, treatment, and medical education, ministry of science, research and technology, ministry of foreign affairs, trade promotion organization, and Export Development Bank of Iran along with the heads of 45 knowledge-based companies active in the export area.
This travel happens along with the export and international business development programs of knowledge-based companies initiated since several years ago as the activities of the Vice-Presidency in support of knowledge-based companies.
The companies of the delegation accompanying Sattari are active in various fields, including health, medical equipment, chemical and herbal medications, information and communication technology, chemical industries, electrics and electronics, advanced industrial machinery technologies, technical and engineering services, and mine industries.
In terms of the export target market, east of Africa is one of the most important markets for knowledge-based companies. In this regard, there is a greater opportunity in Kenya and Uganda due to their proper economic and social relations with Iran and other countries. In fact, Kenya is the export and commercial pole of east of Africa.
The preliminaries of this travel have been provided since four months ago, and the ministry of foreign affairs, the Iranian representative in these two countries and ambassadors of Iran have made the necessary coordination for travel of Sattari to these two countries. In this travel, an in-person meeting will be held between the Iranian knowledge-based companies and their counterparts in Kenya and Uganda.
These negotiations have been initiated since two months ago and Iranian companies have dedicated extensive efforts to recognize their counterparts in Kenya and Uganda. In addition, they will attempt to sign agreements and conclude contracts in the presence of the vice president for science and technology affairs.
Along with holding this meeting, the vice president for science and technology affairs will meet with the president, minister of science, minister of agriculture and deputy minister of health of Uganda and the president and minister of science of Kenya during this travel.
