According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the commission for publication and free access to information of ministry of culture and Islamic guidance has recently released a report on performance of government organizations in the system of free access to information, according to which the most responsive and non-responsive ministries and organizations were introduced until the date of October 1st 2018.
According to this announcement, the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans, ministry of foreign affairs, and the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs had the highest responsiveness percentage among government organizations and affiliated units. On the other hand, nuclear energy organization, ministry of agriculture and ministry of oil with 8, 9 and 14 days were recognized as the organizations with lowest time of responsiveness, respectively. In addition, budget planning organization, red cross association and ministry of sports and youth with 184, 164, and 116 days were introduced as organizations with highest time of responsiveness, respectively.
The ministry of country, ministry of culture and Islamic guidance, and ministry of health, treatment and medical education had the highest response rate to delivered requests in the system. On the other hand, the ministry of foreign affairs, the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, and nuclear energy organization had the lowest rate of dissatisfaction with regard to the number of recorded requests.
Furthermore, most active subgroups in the system were related to the ministry of science, research, and technology, ministry of country, and environmental protection organization. The system of free access to information was established July 2017 and in the presence of ministers of culture and Islamic guidance and information and communication technology.
It is worth noting that the law of free access to and distribution of information was confirmed in 2009 and its executive regulation was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers in 2014. This law is a serious change in the approach of governance to the people, which considers the governing bodies responsible for accountability and, with transparency of information, is considered the best deterrent to corruption.
