The Second Round of “Noor Student Competition” is Taking Its Final Steps.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, secretariat of The Mustafa Prize held the second round of “Noor Student Competition, Commemoration of Professor Jackie Ying” to improve the talents of skilled students.

In total, 2194 groups, consisting of 5110 students, some of whom came from Afghanistan and Pakistan, participated in this event. In addition, 1993 videos were sent to the second round of “Noor Student Competition”.

The Mustafa Prize is a global reward provided as the higher symbol of science and technology in the Islamic world to appreciate and support the work of scholars and scientists of this world. In addition, this prize creates a joint cooperation environment for Muslim experts and scientists.

Furthermore, activities have been developed in the form general society dialogues and creating scientific motivation in high school and university students and young scholars at the level of Islamic world in order to help the promotion of science and technology in Islamic countries and networking of scientists. These programs are followed up in the form of establishment of “Mustafa International Foundation”.  

Secretariat of the Mustafa Prize held the first round of student competition during October 2015 with the title of “Noor Student Competition, Commemoration of Ibn al-Haytham”. In this event, one-minute scientific and educational videos were produced and sent by students and research centers.

In this round, more than 1500 videos on the science of light and its applications were received, and more than 10 thousand enthusiastic students participated. Fan Amouz was responsible for implementing the competition and its technical and scientific supports.

According to the executive document of Prize of the Prophet, Sorena Sattari (vice president for science and technology affairs), was head of policy-making council, and Mahdi Safarnia (head of Pardis technology park), was secretary of the policy-making council of the event.

International members of the policy-making council include Islamic development bank, academy of sciences of the Islamic world, and Karachi and Malaya universities. Domestic members of this council are secretary of the supreme council of the cultural revolution, ministers of science and research and technology, health care and medical education, foreign affairs, chiefs of the education and research commission of the Islamic consultative assembly and health commission of the Islamic consultative assembly, academy of sciences, medical science academy, Islamic culture and communication organization, University of Tehran, Sharif University of Technology, high-level Al-Mustafa Al-Alamia Society institutions and Iranian scientific institutes.

 

The closing ceremony of the second round of “Noor Student Competition, commemoration of Professor Jackie Ying” will be held September 1st 2017 at 17:00-19:00 in Hozeh Honari-Andisheh Hall in the presence of authorities and specialists.
