The annual Asia-Pacific regional meeting of the world council will be held this November by the hosting of the Iranian national science foundation.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, this year and for the first time, the regional research council meeting will be held in Iran, and representatives of member countries will travel to Iran to attend this event.

This meeting will be held by the Iranian national science foundation during November 20^th-21^st, 2018.

“Effectiveness” is the main topic of the annual regional council meeting, which itself is divided into two sections of social and economic research as a criterion for support, evaluation and determining research on development of science, society and economy.

The countries of the Asia-Pacific region with a scientific foundation will participate in this event to discuss the subject in this period. Finally, a summary and a report will be sent to the World Summit to determine the outcome of the topic at that time.

International directors and executives from research and development organizations of countries such as Indonesia, Africa, India, China, and New Zealand will attend the summit. Representatives from Germany and Brazil (World Summit hosts) and Britain (Secretary-General of the Council) will come to Iran as well. Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and the Philippines have also been invited to attend this summit.

For the first time, the Iranian national science foundation attended the regional summit of global research council held in Australia in 2015 as the representative of Iran. The global research council is an international organization encompassing the heads of science foundations of the world. This organization is mainly active in the areas of improving the relationship and cooperation among science foundations of the world, enhancing and promoting information share and the best research cooperation methods, providing a space for regular meetings of heads of science foundation, using the opportunities and focusing on mutual concerns in supporting research and education, presenting a solution for institutes with the intention of creating a global in the area of research, and evaluating the mechanisms that support research society at the global level.

In additional to the global summits, the global research council is held annually in the form of a regional meeting, in which international managers of science foundations and research councils of each continent discuss predetermined topics.
