Advisor on women affairs at Vice-presidency for science and technology affairs expressed: over the past few years, women have had considerable contributions to the growth of knowledge-based economy, in a way that 400 of four thousand and 70 knowledge-based companies are managed by women.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Zeinab Hamidzadeh, advisor on women affairs at Vice-presidency for science and technology affairs, presented a report on the process of presence of women in the innovation and technology ecosystem during the meeting of “achievements in the field of women and family on the 40th anniversary of the Islamic revolution of Iran”.

Pointing out the latest report on the gender gap, which was published by World Economic Forum in 2018, she asserted: the presence of women at various academic ranks and levels is equal to men.

Hamidzadeh emphasized the increased participation of women in the growth of knowledge-based economy, adding: from 4070 knowledge-based companies, 400 enterprises have been established and are managed by women. In addition, the number of successful startups of women are growing every day.

She also referred to the capacities of the program for returning elites to the country, continuing: from one thousand and 109 elites returning to the country, 220 individuals are female. Measures have been taken to increase the return of female experts and elites to the country.

Advisor on women affairs at Vice-presidency for science and technology affairs also marked: a program is designed with the title of “empowering program for creative and technological women” by the women affairs section of the Vice-Presidency, in which three area of modeling, preparing the infrastructures, and networking are considered in order to lay a suitable foundation for increased presence of creative women in the ecosystem of technology and innovation.

This meeting was performed by the ministry of foreign affairs at the center of political and international studies, where ambassadors and diplomats of Tehran were present. Masoumeh Ebtekar the vice president of Iran for women and family affairs, Farideh Oladghobad, president of the women"s parliamentary faction, Dehghani, deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs, Zahra Ayatollahi, the head of the Women"s Social and Cultural Council, and Forouzandeh Vadiati, director general of human rights and woman affairs department, ministry of foreign affairs, expressed their views.
