On the joint meeting between the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs and authorities of Irans state endowment and charity affairs organization, the secretary of knowledge-based economy, technology and science development headquarter stated that scientific and technological ability is one of the pillars of national authority and power.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, a meeting on discourse of science, technology and culture-building of knowledge-based economy was held between the authorities of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs and officials of Irans state endowment and charity affairs organization in Pardis technology park.

Parviz Karami, advisor to the vice president for science and technology affairs and secretary of knowledge-based economy, technology and science development headquarter, talked about the missions and plans of the Vice-Presidency in this meeting, stating: with the involvement of donors in the area of science and technology, we will soon witness a leap in the area of venture capitals and support of knowledge-based companies by religious and national traditions.

Pointing out the future plans of the knowledge-based economy, technology and science development headquarter, Karami expressed: this year, the second cultural festival of “Made in Iran” will be held.

He also expressed: we have aimed to have a sample by working with culture building organizations.

In addition to mentioning the agreements between the Vice-Presidency and ministry of education, ministry of culture and Islamic guidance, and ministry of cooperation, Karami demanded the head of Irans state endowment and charity affairs organization to separate the topic of science and technology from cooperation with the Vice-Presidency and consider it as one of the major activities of the organization.

He explained: this issue has been emphasized by the Supreme Leader of Iran. There has never been a meeting with him without mentioning the issue of attention to science and technology.

Secretary of knowledge-based economy, technology and science development headquarter regarded the scientific authority of Iran to be in line with its military authority, marking: scientific authority of a country is in line with its national power, and the subject of science and technology must be emphasized in provinces as well since it could lead to understanding the future by a talented individual to be the source of creativity and innovation in his own province.

He added: over the past few years and with cooperation between the Vice-Presidency and national elites foundation, 800 young individuals, who were residents of other countries for some reasons and were working in 100 top universities of the world, have returned to Iran.

Clergymen of the Country Can be a Media for Science and Technology

Hujjat al-Islam Ali Mohammadi, representative of the supreme leader and head of Irans state endowment and charity affairs organization, stated: we need to have a better understanding of science and technology if we want to obtain better results from these meetings. Eventually, we can be able to be the best promoters of this area. Clergymen, such as provincial managers of endowment and charity affairs organization and deputies of this organization can guide people toward these issues in their own town or city with regard to the nature of their job in the community. It could be stated that we can be better promoters for you.

Pointing out the statements of the Supreme Leader, Mohammadi added: the Supreme Leader of Iran have stated: “everything needs security, even the oil-based economy requires security”. The oil-based economy is not safe. One day there is good customers and one day there is not. It depends on the economy of the world, which is managed by others and not us.

Recommendation of Establishment of an Investment Foundation in Irans State Endowment and Charity Affairs Organization

Alireza Daliri, deputy for management and resources development headquarter, expressed in this meeting: the human resource of our country is capable and we have ranked first in the region in this area. We have intelligent people; however, we have problems in output for science production, which producing products from ideas.

He added: of course, our position in this area has improved in the past few years, cause of which is attention to the infrastructures of this field. Nevertheless, we need to have a better position. Our problem is that we can bring our science on paper, but we cannot make it practical.

Deputy for management and resources development headquarter emphasized collaborations initiated with Irans state endowment and charity affairs organization.

Mahdi Safarnia, Head of Pardis Technology Park, explained about the activities of the park and support of its companies and holding knowledge-based events in another part of the meeting. Moreover, a report on the Mustafa Prize (scientific prize) was presented as well.

After the meeting and in the form of a scientific tour, Pardis Technology Park was visited by Ali Mohammadi, representative of the Supreme Leader of Iran and head of Irans state endowment and charity affairs organization, Parviz Karami, advisor to the vice president for science and technology affairs, Alireza Daliri, deputy for management and resources development headquarter, and Mahdi Safarnia, head of Pardis Technology Park.
