According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, visited three knowledge-based centers active in the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem of Tehran. It should be noted that in this visit, Sattari was accompanied by Mohammad Ali Najafi, the mayor of Tehran. During this visit, Sattari stated: Tehran has potential capacities to be turned into a smart city through the realization of creative and innovative startups.
Sattari expressed that development of innovative businesses in the heart of Tehran can lay the foundation for development of a new service platform in Tehran, affirming: creation of an entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem in Tehran can lead to the introduction of new concepts in the area of urban service provision.
Support of the Growth of Knowledge-based Businesses by the Municipality of Tehran
Pointing out the preparedness of the municipality of Tehran to support innovative businesses by the mayor of Tehran, he marked: many deserted factories and useless urban spaces can be turned into infrastructures for development of knowledge-based companies and growth centers by changing their application and using creativity and innovation. The municipality of Tehran can help the knowledge-based centers and the Vice-Presidency to change the application of these locations.
Visit of a Startup Worth of Billions
In the first section of their visit, the vice president for science and technology affairs and the mayor of Tehran visited the product-processing center of Digikala, which is recognized as one of the successful startups of the country.
A Factory with Innovative Products
Factor startup was the second stop point for Sattari and Najafi, which was previously a closed factory in Tehran for many years, but is now a successful startup in the innovation field due to the change of application with the support of the vice president for science and technology affairs.
“Innovation Factory of Tehran”, which has initiated its activities since three years ago with the support of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, has aimed to play a role in turning Tehran into a creative city and developing an entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem by empowering of new ideas and turning them into creative startups and knowledge-based companies.
Visit of Innovation Center of Sharif
Furthermore, the vice president for science and technology affairs and mayor of Tehran visited the “technology service complex of Sharif University of Technology”.
According to this report, Sattari was accompanied by Esmaeil Ghaderifar, head of the strategic technologies development center, Parviz Karami, advisor to the vice president for science and technology affairs and secretary of knowledge-based economy, technology and science development headquarter, Seyed Mohammad Hossein Sajadi Nayeri, secretary of soft and identity-making technologies development headquarter, Mahdi Faghihi, secretary of information, communication and cyberspace technologies development headquarter, Mahmoud Fotouhi, president of Sharif University of Technology, and Majidi Dehbidipour, manager of the growth and entrepreneurship center of the university and the mayor of Tehran.
