Registration of the First International Student Olympiad on Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine in the Name of Iran
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Peyman Keyhanvar, head of the science committee of student Olympiad of stem cells and regenerative medicine, stated: for the first time, the stem cells and regenerative medicine Olympiad was proposed by the stem cells science and technologies development headquarter. With regard to the general interest in exceptional talents and young researchers national center and ministry of education and presence of coordination for holding this Olympiad, it is aimed to hold student Olympiad on an international level in the name of Iran.
He pointed out that establishing an Olympiad in any country is associated with locating its main office in the same country. In this respect, he continued: this will be the first international Olympiad in the region. In addition, it is the first interdisciplinary Olympiad, where questions are related to physics, statistics, biology and chemistry of the second grade of high school.
Keyhanvar continued: in addition, the student Olympiad of stem cells and regenerative medicine is the only Olympiad where in addition to individual and team discussions, various teams from different countries will be established in the form of multi-national groups to compete with each other. This is indicative of peace making and teamwork attitude of Iran.
In terms of executive stages of this international Olympiad, he expressed: currently, the steering council of the student Olympiad has meetings every two weeks with the support of exceptional talents and young researchers national center. Members of this council are from the authorities of stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter, international affairs of the Vice-Presidency, and international affairs office of schools outside the country. In addition, the final output of these meetings was preparation and modification of the statute of the first international Olympiad of stem cells and regenerative medicine. It is predicted that the final statute will be presented in the next week.
Head of the science committee of student Olympiad of stem cells and regenerative medicine marked another important note: this Olympiad has an attitude-based approach and is among the small number of Olympiads, which have aimed to facilitate the technology and entrepreneurial attitude among students.
