Realization of the knowledge-based economy is the first priority of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs

The deputy for international affairs and technological exchange expressed: the most important priority of the Vice-Presidency is realization of knowledge-based economy, which is seriously followed up by all sections of this headquarter.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Ali Morteza Birang, deputy for international affairs and technological exchange, stated in a meeting with high-level delegation of active women in the political and social parties of Lebanon during the visit of Pardis Technology Park: the main mission of the Vice-Presidency is realization of knowledge-based economy in the country, which is carried out in various areas, including advanced technologies, development of entrepreneurship ecosystem and support of knowledge-based companies.

He also asserted: in terms of development of advanced technologies, we have had proper achievements, in a way that the ranking of nanotechnology field improved from 58 to four in the world, which shows the great success of Iran. Currently, 200 knowledge-based companies in Iran are active in the field of nanotechnology and export nano products to 50 countries.

Deputy for international affairs and technological exchange continued: these successes are not limited to the nanotechnology field. In fact, other areas of advanced technology, such as biotechnology, have properly grown in Iran. In addition, we have had a good position regarding the production of biotechnology medications.

Birang added: in the area of developing the entrepreneurship ecosystem, the Vice-Presidency has supported the establishment of innovation centers and accelerators and have improved the infrastructure for developing of new companies and startups. One of the most successful program is being implemented under the supervision of the innovation center of Pardis Technology Park.

He mentioned the establishment of innovation centers in most universities of the country with the support of the Vice-Presidency, mentioning: these centers help students and graduates establish their own companies.

Deputy for international affairs and technological exchange claimed: in the area of supporting knowledge-based companies, it should be noted that more than 100 types of service have been provided to these enterprises by the Vice-Presidency, which dedicates efforts to solving the problems of the companies and developing their business inside and outside the country.

 

Birang also expressed: we have comprehensive plans to develop international cooperation in the field of science and technology in order to exchange mutual cooperation with other countries.

In addition, he pointed out the cooperation programs with the non-resident Iranian experts and entrepreneurs, announcing that in less than four years, about one thousand and one hundred Iranian experts have returned to Iran and established technological business and perform academic activities. Currently, this is one of our successful programs in this field.
