The 5-day long meeting of exchanging experiences of science and technology at Islamic countries has been inaugurated by the secretariat of the Mustafa(PBUH) Prize in cooperation with the Putra university of Malaysia since Monday with presence of representatives from Iran and prominent researchers from Islamic countries in Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia.

According to the public relations and information center of the presidency vice presidency for science and technology affairs, Marzieh Afkham, ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran in Malaysia; Abbas Ghanbari Baghestan, scientific consultant of Iran in East Asia; Eini Edris, headmaster of the Putra university; Omar Yaghi, winner of the Mustafa(PBUH) prize in 2015; and Raha Abdolrahim, manager of the research planning section of the higher education ministry of Malaysia were present at the inauguration ceremony of this meeting.

Saeed Sarkar, member of the scientific task force of the Mustafa(PBUH) prize and secretary of the Nano technology development headquarter explained the scientific and economic condition of countries members of the Organization of Islamic Capitals and Cities (OICC).

According to him, the Mustafa(PBUH) prize is bestowed to the superiors of the Islam world in four topics of medical and bio technology and science, information and communication technology and science, Nano technology and science, and all science and technology fields.

Sarkar stated about the winners of the Mustafa(PBUH) prize in 2015: last year, representatives from more than 60 countries including ambassadors of 200 countries were present at the ceremony of bestowing the biennial prizes of Mustafa(PBUH) and news of this prize was published on more than 280 international media.

Eini Edris, , headmaster of the Putra university, expressed gladness in the following of this meeting of being host of this meeting and mentioned the importance of Nano in the field of new technologies and asserted: Nano has attracted many attention in the world and will grow substantially in future.

He emphasized on academic and research centers cooperation in Nano and asked for more cooperation of Islamic countries in this section.

At the first day of this meeting, the condition of Nano technology and science in Islamic countries and how to cooperate in this field was analyzed with a look at the sciences of the world as the common language for peace and welfare.

It is set that how to create an environment for discovering the creativities and issues and solutions of scientific cooperation among Islamic counters get analyzed in this meeting.

Nano technology commercialization, issues related to publishing article, achievements of scientists of Islamic world and the final statement are other programs of this 5-day long meeting.

Designing the meetings of science and technology exchange in Islamic countries (STEPP) is one tool for creating world capacities for Muslim scientists and propagating science at the Islam world which its first session was held last year concurrently with the week of bestowing the Mustafa(PBUH) prize in association with the academy of science, the Tarbiat Modares University and Tehran University.

The second meeting of “STEPP” has been inaugurated since December 19 at the UPM University of Malaysia with presence of prominent scientists of the Islam world and will be continued to December 23. About 250 Nano field researchers will be present in this meeting that with the cooperation of Malaysia Academy of Science, more than 30 prominent scientists of the Islam world in Nano field from 12 countries are among them.

Renown international scientific organizations such as COMSTECH, African Academy of Science, Malaysia Academy of Science, Islam World Academy of Science, Islamic Republic of Iran Academy of Science, the Nano technology development headquarter of the presidency vice presidency for science and technology affairs, National Elites Foundation and other scientific organizations have cooperated with the secretariat of the Mustafa(PBUH) prize through inviting scientists to attend the meeting and holding the scientific meeting of STEPP.

Based on the operational act of the Mustafa(PBUH) prize, Soorena Sattari, presidency vice president for science and technology affairs, is president of the policy-making council and Mahdi  Saffari Nia, president of the Pardis Technology Park, is secretary of this council. The first session of the prize ceremony was held on December 25, 2015.
