Non-resident elites in the location-based field will be returned to Iran

One of the priorities of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs is making efforts to return or cooperate with non-resident Iranian elites, for which a plan is designed and announced to all headquarters and deputies. Location-based elites is another target group of this project, which will lay the foundation for returning these individuals to the country.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, in this regard, the location-based group of the national space and advanced transportation administration has recognized one of its prioritized works as identifying Iranian elites of this field and adopting policies for their return to the country.

This year, this group has initiated the perspectives and initial plans and will operationalize the operation phase of the program.

Given the significant increase in the number of technologies related to location-based area in the 21st century, there is a higher necessity for developing this critical technology in the world. Therefore, various countries want to find ways to develop this science. In Iran, special attention has been paid to this technology, and the Vice-Presidency has established a group for organizing the players of this field.

Some of the location-based technologies include spatial information technology (e.g., GIS, LIS and Cadastre), positioning and navigation technologies (e.g., GPS), indoor positioning, remote sensing (e.g., multi-spectral and hypersensitive measurements and radar measurements), photogrammetry (e.g., aerial photogrammetry, short range and UAV), laser scanner technology (e.g., Lidar), geodesy (e.g., geodetic physics and geodynamics), hydrography and technologies derived from the combination of the above cases (e.g., LBS).
