According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the fifth policy-making council meeting was held in the presence of Mohammad Saeed Seyf, secretary of marine knowledge-based industry and technology development headquarter and related authorities, who cooperate in holding of the third national festival of “sea, the path to progress”.

In this meeting, secretaries of various sections of the festival (industrial, and high school and university students) reviewed the holding of this round of the competition by providing a report on taken actions and predicted plans. In addition, it was announced that more than one thousand and one hundred projects and ideas have been delivered for the third round of the national festival of “Sea, the Path of Progress”.

Importance of Holding the National Festival of “Sea, the Path of Progress” Is Evident in the Society

Behnam Rezaei, secretary of the third national festival of “Sea, the Path of Progress”, regarded planning and familiarizing various walks of life of the society, including high school and university students, with the sea as the most effective measures in this area, stating: familiarization of people with this concept can provide the foundation for supply of creative and efficient human resource for the future of this vital industry. Therefore and after two successful rounds of the festival, the primary plan for holding the third round is set, aiming to promote the related topics.

Direct Cooperation of Ministry of Education in Promotion of Sea

On the policymaking council meeting of the third national festival of “Sea, the Path of Progress”, Nazari, secretary of high school student section of the festival, started his speech by saying: we have initiated our work since this May by sending circulars to provinces of the country. At the end of June, we followed up our tasks in the Amir Kabir student secretariat of district three of Tehran.

He also expressed: the most important section of the festival is high school section due to the extent and diversity of the disciplines.

Marine Short Videos and Images by University Students

According to this report, projects will be received by the call from marine and non-marine universities of the country with the cooperation of school of marine technology and science of Hormozgan University.

Competition sections include 90-second videos, promotional items in the field of knowledge-based production and economy and marine images.

Competition of ROV Underwater Robots for University Students

Hatam Ghasemzadeh, secretary of the underwater robots competition section, pointed out that the nature of this section of competition is new in the country, affirming: this novelty of underwater robots student competition calls for more efforts to encourage academics and academic centers to enter this area.

Secretary of the underwater robots student competition also mentioned: currently, about 14 teams from various universities of the country has entered this stage. On the other hand, some of the universities, including Amir Kabir, Tehran and Islamic Azad University, South Tehran and Najafabad branches, and Qavin University, have participated in this event for the first time.

Ghasemzadeh announced the formation of educational workshops along with holding the third round of the national festival of “Sea, the Path of Progress”, stating: in this section, a workshop with the title of introduction to ROV underwater robots will be held, in which the mentioned system will be introduced and a demo of presented robots will be displayed to familiarize the high school and university students who attend the event.

He added: “ROV” underwater robots competition has been announced by a call for universities and with the cooperation of Islamic Azad University, Qazvin Branch, to form and guide student teams and present technical and informative helps, along with the closing ceremony of the festival.

Exhibition of Marine Technological Achievements of the Country

Hamidreza Ghasemizadeh from the association of creators of fleet, and marine equipment and structures, is active as the secretary of the exhibition of marine technological achievements in the national festival of “Sea, the Path of Progress”.

Honoring the Marine Technological Achievements and Projects of the Country in the Festival

Vali Mohammad Khosravi, secretary of the section of marine technological achievement projects in the third national festival of “Sea, the Path of Progress”, stated: similar to the previous rounds, the section of marine technological achievements and projects of the country will be held in three areas of marine knowledge-based companies, organizations and units, and scientific centers and universities.

Scientific Speech and Educational Workshops

In order to familiarize individuals with concepts and skills of marine area and creation of a dynamic environment along with the festival of “Sea, the Path of Progress”, scientific speech and educational workshops will be held in three areas of industry and high school and university students.

Marine Idea Market

The marine idea market competition will be held to recognize individuals with creative and innovative ideas in marine area, aiming to support the commercialization of the selected ideas in two sections of high school and university students. In addition to honoring 10 ideas and five best high school and university students, three top ideas will be rewarded.

Secretariat of these competitions is based at growth center of technology units affiliated to Imam Khomeini Naval University and technology park of Mazandaran. In addition, marine knowledge-based industry and technology development headquarter will support the ideas with a model or primary sample. To date, more than 300 ideas have been delivered to this secretariat in two sections of high school and university students.

It should be mentioned that the third round of the national festival of “Sea, the Path of Progress” will be held in Holy Defense Museum of Tehran during October 31^st-November 2^nd, 2017 with the cooperation of marine organizations and units.
