According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mahdi Eliasi, deputy of policy-making and strategic assessment, expressed during the visit of the fourth national festival and exhibition of medical plants, natural products, and Iranian medicine: while the share of technology in the area of medical plants is not as high as nano technology, the effectiveness of this area in export is not less than high-tech products.

Deputy of policy-making and strategic assessment regarded medical plants as a public industry in the country, expressing: medical plants are important due to various reasons. Firstly, this industry comes straight from the farms to the houses of people, meaning that it is a completely public industry. Meanwhile, we are faced with numerous high-tech industries in the world that are not known by the majority of people. Another feature of this field is countless opportunities in the market that can be exploited in the country considering the defects in the export chain of industry of medical plants.

He pointed out the export foundation in the food and drug industry of the country, marking: considering the necessary export foundations in the area of medical plants, a new section with the title of creative industries has been added to this round of the festival since despite the fact that the products are not high-tech, there is a greater number of innovative products in this field. Therefore, we can creative an innovative export market using the domestic capacities and infrastructures.

The fourth national festival and exhibition of medical plants, natural products and Iranian medicine (traditional) is held November 11th-14th 2018 in Musala of Tehran by the efforts of the medicinal plants and traditional medicine sciences and technologies development headquarter.
